Clip audio not playing in timeline

I am on Windows 11, PP24.5.0. I was able to drag clips into the timeline with the accompanying audio but suddenly now I get the video without the audio. I have the track selected, I have deleted the media cache, I am using the source monitor and other fixes described by google gurus but it's not happening.

Can anyone suggest what is going wrong and how to fix?

I order to get the audio too you will have to source patch (as in insert/overwrite) the audio track first.

Here's a screenshot. I am trying to drag a video into track 5. I'll be tidying it up later!
