Clips glitching and restarting

I've been trying to figure out why every time I make an edit to a video, the clip will corrupt and restart the video from the beginning spot. I've also been getting moment where after rendering the video, it will glitch, continue playing, but will restart the footage with the audio going. I've changed my rendering and sequence settings to match the video in attempt to fix this, yet nothing seems to be working
