Question

Clips not linking from AE To Premiere After Archiving

Hi,

So I finished a project and archived both the AP (using project manager) and AE (dependencies) to backup hard drives.
In this premiere project, there are multiple AE clips linked to it. Some comps were created in AE and brought into Premiere. Others were clips in the premiere timeline that were replaced in AE.
When I open the premiere project from the backup drive, one After Effects clip works fine. All the others show color bars.
I've tried to relink them, thinking that is the problem, but Premier won't let me (it's grayed out).
Is there a way to fix this so that all of the AE clips in the premiere timeline(s) work?

Thanks

HI @M23370304el6x,

Thanks for the message and the question. Welcome to the forum. There really isn't a great workflow for dynamically linked comps and project manager. It's a bit of a workaround, but you might try this approach: https://adobe.ly/3QzMtPi. Let me know if that works. Sorry for the hassle.

Thanks,
Kevin

Whoops, somehow I missed your response. Thanks for the help. I looked at the link, but I'm having a tough time following what he's suggesting here (see the bold text below).

"what I  do is

- collect the prem project

- collect the afx project

- then relink the prem project you collected and delete the one it creates for you in the  managed/collected  prem folder files

you may have to relink  1 piece of media, to find all the rest "
