Question

Closed Captions Burnt In Instead of Being Embedded

Premiere Pro

v 24.4.1

I keep running into an issue where both Premiere Pro and Media Encoder keep burning in closed captions files rather than embedding them or even making a sidecar .scc file.

What is really odd is that up until recently this process has been working just fine for me.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Current Export Settings:

Preset : XDCAM HD 50 NTSC

Format: MXF OP1a

1920x1080

29.97

Progressive

Captions:

Embed in Output File

This didn't fix the issue in 24.6.1.   Appears to be tied to the eyeball being on...if you toggle it off it appears to fix the burnt in on embedded File export

There was another post about that some days ago and the solution was to reset the preferences. Close Premiere Pro and then launch it while you hold down the Shift-key. This will bring up the Reset options dialog. Choose "Reset app preferences" and click Continue.
