Color Correction with 16mm Film

Hello

I am completely stuck.

Using one effect; two effects - and a variety of color correction tools experimenting with a very old 16mm film using Premiere CS6 I was able to create a barely usable correction.

To start I used a reference monitor with RGB Parade.

I then adjusted using Brightness and Contrast.

From there I attempted to use one tool then another in concert - or just one tool. In short I used the Fast Color Corrector (white balance, sliding bar and so forth). If that failed to deliver the expected affect I than used the Three Way Color Corrector. With both of these tools I achieved a result less than desirable.

I also used in concert, or independent of, other tools -the Color Balance (RGB), Pro Amp, Channel Mixer.

I was unable to achieve a color correction that would yield a film with improved color.

This short segment link inserted here is a sample of the film. The gentleman is wearing a pink coat. Whatever I did using the pink coat as reference failed to change this segment  to useful colors.

What tools are best to achieve a color correction so that this film plays as it was intended - in color.

Let me know what I can do to improve my learning curve.

Thanks!

Hello

I was able to to this. I think a better improved result is close to being discovered. Just need to know how to improve upon what I have now.

Here is the effort at reclaiming a segment. Just need to improve upon the use of the proper tool to enhance the 16mm color film.

Unfortunately, I don't think that you will be able to get the result you want with that footage.

I'm happy that you proved me wrong.
