Color Matte question

Hello everyone

I want to change the color of the color matte by adding a cut and then changing it. But it also changes the entire color of the matte. Do I have to drag and drop separate color mattes?

The screenshot below states the new color after the cut(teal) changes the old color (magenta) of the matte. Is it possible to add a cut in the magenta color matte and make the other one teal?
