Question

Coloring / Edits Changed When Moving Project To New Location.

Hello,

Whenever I move a project to a new location on a different drive the Lumetri coloring on the videos gets all messed up.

Most of the time it gets very high contrast on all the clips but the setting on the lumetri pannel are the same as when i normally corrected it.

Also in the middle of some clips the coloring seems to go from 100%-50% opacity but there is no change in key frames or anything.

From Start-End of editing a project i keep it on my fastest SSD drive, once i finish it i move it to a bigger drive that i store all my past projects on and then IMMEDIATELY re-link all the footage.

I have tried:

File > Project Manager > Collecting files and copy to new location

The problems are

1. It messed up my OCD neat folder setup

2. Still has the same problem of Lumetri getting messed up.

I have searched all over and they all recommend doing what i have tried and seems that other people have had the same problem.

Hopefully someone can help!

no i usually dont use master clip effects. it really sucks trying to go back to a project way later on and finding all the coloring to be different.

Do you by chance use third party LUTS that you manually added in the applications system folders. (like Kevin-Monahan said)

Hi blakekimball,

I see this happening when users manually hack the application package to add custom or third party LUTs. Do both of these systems have a basic installation, or has the application package been altered?

Engineering does not recommend the application package ever be opened and we in support cannot assist you with this issue until you've reinstalled the application.

Could this be the case? Please let us know so we can assist.

Thanks,

Kevin

What happens if you do the project+media transfer to another drive manually?

Does the problem persist?

when you say manually do you mean like drag and drop to the other drive?

if so thats what i did the first time and it still had the problem

Yes, I mean transferring all your footage/source material used in your project to another drive by using either the Finder or Explorer.

Once that media is transferred, opening your project and manually relinking to the relocated media.

If you have done this and the source footage looks different once it is relinked - that is a serious problem.

I can't offer a suggestion to correct it as I have never had it happen on my system.

By any chance, do you use Master Clip Effects?

File this as a bug, please! It seems to have cropped up recently for a few users, and needs to get as much info to the developers as they can to get sorted.
