Colour masking on an already cloured clip.

Hi all,

I’m sure this is probably schoolboy error stuff but i cannot get my head around it. An already graded clip but I want to raise the colour in a certain area. Use the mask tool but everywhere outside the mask goes back to its original log colour. I tried duplicating the clip but got the same result. Can anyone help me out on this? Thank you.
