Colours Over Exposed - Premiere Pro 2025, even though I've followed the guidelines

Hi,

 

I would be so grateful if anyone has a clue what I'm doing wrong with the colour management settings. I have an issue with my footage still being over exposed when editing in premiere pro 2025. I've been able to solve this issue in the past on my other computer, I now have a new MacBook Air M3. 

 

The footage is recorded with iPhone 16 pro, I had the HDR settings on when recording (now turned off). 

 I've followed these steps:

 

- Display colour management, auto detect log and auto tone mapping --> on.

- Rec.709 selected. 

- Tried the three different gammas: 2.4, 2.2 and 1.96. 

 

Truly grateful for any help or ideas on what I should do.

    Showing screengrabs of your entire color management Settings tab would be helpful.

     

    And of course, does the footage appear overexposed outside of Premiere, but what if it is re-imported into Premiere?

      try to convert your footage to SDR before importing to premiere pro.

      can use Finder on Macs (right click the video and encode)

      FFMPEG on Windows
