Combine video clips without nesting/losing flexibility

Hi, the Panasonic GH4 outputs multiple clips when recording continuously- on a timeline it plays back seamlessly. However, I want to combine them into one clip for color and motion control purposes. Nesting puts the clip at 100% so you can't punch in without losing quality, and you can't zoom out once it's been nested.

Is there a workaround/ solution you would suggest besides exporting as 1 clip and re-importing into the project?

Thanks

Hi Jeffrey:

How about keep them separate clips and use an Adjustment Layer for the color correction?

Apply effects to multiple clips in the Premiere Pro timeline with adjustment layers

Yes, that would definitely work for color correction but for the sake of resizing or changing the composition for 4K clips on a 1080 timeline, it makes it more difficult with shots that are broken across multiple clips.
