Constant crashing when using VR headset

I'm having an issue where premiere pro is giving me lots of trouble.

I'm working on a 8k stereoscopic 3d timeline with footage shot on a canon R5C and dual fisheye lens. The footage has been stitched in Canon's software. I'm working on a PC with an intel 13900k and RTX4090 with 128GB DDR5 RAM and plenty of SSDs. I'm running Windows 10 pro 22H2 with Premiere version 23.4. I'm using an HP VR headset through Windows Mixed Reality.

Whats happening is every few minutes I get an error saying "A low-level exception occurred in: Adobe Immersive Environment (Transmit::PushVideo)" and my program monitor freezes until I restart premiere. I only get 2-3 minutes tops of work time before this error happens, sometimes only like 10 seconds. I've tried resetting all preferences and cache etc and that hasn't made a difference. Also, anytime I turn on one of the VR remotes, premiere instantly crashes without any notice or explanation as to what happened.

Please help! I can edit just fine without the headset hooked up, but you can't tell what the disparity setting of different graphics needs to be at unless you can look at it.

I believe that editing using the VR headset is no longer supported. That might explain your stability errors. Sorry about that.

Hello,

We are trying to use Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 to attempt to edit video using a VR headset using Steam VR and Adobe Immersive Environment.

I have followed various instructions on the Adobe website, other websites and YouTube videos but they all appear to enable 'Adobe Immersive Experience' from the right click settings menu. This option is greyed out whenever I attempt to select it. I have also tried going to Preferences > Playback and seeing if I can select Adobe Immersive Environment from there but I do not have the option available.

I am using the following specifications:

Software:

Windows 10 - 22H2 Build 19045 x64
Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 - 24.3.0 (Build 59)
SteamVR

Hardware:

Oculus Rift headset
Intel Core i9-12900
Samsung SSD 980 PRO 1TB
32GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

Is anyone aware of what I could be missing or why this option isn't available?

I don't know how to escalate this higher up the food chain. I'm fairly new to using these forums.

I've been able to manage my workflow by minimizing the preview window that pops up and shows what your headset sees. I get much better performance when I do that, however I still struggle. I've also found that the computer runs much smoother if I render out a proxy of what I'm working with. I view the proxy when I'm needing to play back the video, but I go back to the original footage when I need to place a graphic and need it to be higher res. This process makes it where the software rarely crashes on its own, and the "A low-level exception occurred in: Adobe Immersive Environment (Transmit::PushVideo)" error is less common.

Also, if you are using a plugin to stitch your footage in premiere directly, you might try stitching it externally and editing an already stitched file.

Hope this helps while we wait for adobe to fix the problem

Tried with Oculus Rift. This is definitely a software problem with either Premiere and/or Steam. Is there any way to escalate this bug as it is essential for editing 360 video to be able to view in a headset? I'm currently working to a deadline on a 360 video and this is adding hours to my workflow as i need to render to view.
