Hello all,

I am using premiere pro version latetst version 14.5. Today I rendered out my project, noticed some errors and went back to do the fixes. Ever since it has been constantly freezing, having to close out getting the "Not responding message".  I am out of ideas. Please help.

I have tried resetting my preferences and settings and plug-in cache. With the ALT +  SHIFT start program. Cleared my cache in preferences.

I am on Windows 10

32GB ram, AMD Ryzen 7 2700

please tell us your graphics card and if the drivers are up to date...  and your source properties and sequence settings?  You might make sure your graphics card meets premiere specs

Did you update to premiere 14.5 recently?  If so, you might try reverting to an earlier version of 14 that was working for you.

Pretty sure my drivers are up to date. I always update before I shutdown my computer, when I get the options. Usually keep upkeep on my computer.

by source property, do you mean vid size? Its a mix of 1080p and 4k resolution vids. 30fps.

I believe it updated to 14.5 last week. Ive been using premier since April, so I know my hardware can handle what im doing. All my projects are roughly the same as far as sources.

buried in one of the preferences is the option to warn you if there are compatibility issues with your computer.  Check to see if it's turned on.  Windows does not usually tell you if the drivers for your graphics card are up to date.  You need to go to the website of the manufacturer of the graphics card and check.

to get the properties of your sources, select a clip in the timeline or in the bin and control click and choose properties.  We're interested in the codec.  Were any of your sources from a screen recording or from a smart phone?  those are usually variable frame rate and they can cause intermittent problems in premiere.   Post back if so, and I'll give you how to proceed.  I know you were working with this material without issues for a while, but unfortunately variable frame rate sources cause intermittent issues which are hard to predict.

Since you recently updated to 14.5, try reverting to the previous version of 14 that was working and see if your problem goes away.  If you deleted the previous version, it's still available for installing in the creative cloud app.  One of the great things about creative cloud is that you can have multiple versions installed on your system without any issues.
