CONTENTS Folder from Panasonic HVX200 no longer linking Audio and Video in Premiere Pro

I am using Premiere Pro 2024 on Macbook M1 with Monterey. Last week I was able to import the CONTENTS folder from the HVX200 into Premiere and the shots would be kept in tack (that is with audio and video linked). For some reason now the CONTENTS folder from my HVX200 does not reveal the videos shot in tack. I am give many segments of video in the MXF format rather than the 2 longer shots which I filmed.

I am able to open previous CONTENTS folders from the camera without issue. I hope something has not gone awry with my camera. I am using the Media Browser as suggested in previous forums.

    Hello @mattm8007328,

    Thanks for the reply. Now, I recall that spanned clips on certain SD cards are not supported on ARM Macs, so that is likely at the heart of your troubleshooting issue. Let's troubleshoot this problem on the Discussions forum. You will need a workaround for this issue, at least for the foreseeable future.

    I heard you are struggling with Premiere Pro recognizing your CONTENTS folder. That sounds maddening. Sorry!

     

    If you have macOS and any problem like this, I always suspect the Mac's System Settings in the Apple menu.> Privacy & Security > Files & Folders. Check also Full Disk Access. Ensure the Premiere Pro app is switched to the "ON" position.

     

    I hope that advice might help you solve this issue. Let the community know.

    I was just checking, because some people mistakenly think Premiere copies the files somewhere when you "import" files into Premiere.

     

    It doesn't, it only references the file location on disc. So any changes to those folders, and Premiere is lost.

     

    Another thing ... if OneDrive, Dropbox, or something like that has 'access' or monitors the location, that can interfere with Premiere's operations also.

    I formatted my P2 card and shot some shots. I was able to download a working CONTENTS folder from the camera. Regarding my previous difficulties, something must have been on the p2 card that premier didn't like. If anyone has any idea why this would happen please inform. Thanks!

    I put the CONTENTS folder on the desktop, which has previously worked.

    Where did you put that folder structure on your computer?

    The audio and video parts of those clips are in different folders. If anything has changed from the originally loaded folder structure, the 'link' between audio and video is lost.

     

    So ... have any of the folders on disc for those clips been touched by anything?

    Thanks for the response but no the file structure has not been changed.
    I exported from the camera an additional time to make certain.
