Copy protection issue

Hello

I need some help in getting my DVD copy protected with Adobe Encore CS6

I am able to print my video and menu onto the dual layered DVD+R disks I have,

but I keep getting an error message bore burning that says "COPY PROTECTION

NOT SUPPORTED FOR THIS OUTPUT OPTION."

Anyone have any suggestions as to how to overcome this problem?

Encore does do copy protection, but only if the output type is going for replication by pressing; not duplication by burning.

And as John says, it is still subject to being defeated. That is not an Encore problem, but the state of DVD protection.

Talk to a replication company, and they can give you more information.

Hello. I discovered something but I do not know if it helps the original problem here.

When I try to burn a dvd+r with the option "no copies allowed" and css "on", I get the same message as you , " COPY PROTECTION NOT SUPPORTED FOR THIS OUTPUT OPTION".

But when I try to burn a dvd-r, then I DO NOT get this message. It proceeds to the burning but it does show me this message "This image has sector headders.Hit OK if you would like to continue with the record with the sector headers removed." .

Is this the same thing?

Did you read the entire thread? Do not attempt copy protection, it is a fool's errand. Impossible within Encore.

Also, any disc that is flagged for copy protection will be based on 2054 sector counts instead of 2048 and as such cannot be burned to a WORM disc (be it DVD+R or DVD-R) as these require sector counts at 2048.

Also, in Dual Layer you cannot set a layer break if using DVD-R - it is not supported (by anybody as DVD-R DL will always split the data in half and will not allow user set layer breaks).

Easiest way to set any layer break is to compile to a DVD Folder (Video_TS) and then import this folder into IMGBurn and it will give you all the legal layer break options available and set the flags for you correctly and output the result as an ISO with a .dvd file containing the layer break details.

CSS is free to use but utterly pointless as it is hacked wide open.

Macrovision is very expensive (and does not work either).

DVD-Video Copy Protection is a waste of time & effort. Seriously. Just avoid it altogether.

Encore does not do copy protection

You need to send an appropriate "master" file to a business that adds copy protection... find such a business and ask what needs to be sent to that business

Of course, a 1 second Google search will find a large number of programs that are sold to break copy protection, so don't bother wasting your time and money
