Corrupt frames with 120 fps video in PPro, fine in VLC player

I recently got a Sony A7s III, primarily to shoot 4k at 120 fps, and am finding that a lot of the footage has corrupt frames when using Adobe apps (Premiere and After Effects).  I have tried both the 120 fps file frame that is "interpreted" to 29.97 fps rate as well as the S&Q version of the 120 fps video that has a 29.97 fps file frame rate.  Probably a quarter of all the clips wind up with a glitch somewhere, none of which appears when viewed in the VLC player.  I can't find a pattern that predicts when a clip will have a glitch - it seems pretty random.

Has anyone run into this issue and found a solution?

Thanks,

Update on this - it turns out that the files did, indeed, have corrupt frames but the VLC player was just skipping them.  So it appeared to be working in VLC player but the error was still there.

So the problem is not with the Adobe apps.  The problem was in the video files, themselves.

Hi rgames,

Sorry to hear about this. Please share a screenshot of the glitch that you are experiencing in Premiere Pro. Also, have you tried switching the Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only & checked if it's working properly?

Thanks,

Sumeet

Hi Sumeet - I have attached an example of a corrupt frame taken from Premiere Pro.  I have tried the different Mercury Engine settings and the corrupt frame appears in the same spot and looks the same as what I've attached here.

Thanks for the help.
