Crazy scrubbing delay on MP4s - 1 frame every 10 seconds
Immediately after updating to the April 2019 version, this happened for all MP4s in an existing project. I managed to delete all cache files, some of which were weirdly on the C drive even though that hasn't be a location in years. Then it worked again.
Now a week later, and running 13.11, after a crash, this is happening again. Scrubbing MP4 files is completely hopeless, 1 frame every 10 seconds. You position the playback cursor anywhere, and it takes 10 seconds to get an image. I've tried clearing cache files (but I have practically none), and this time there's no remedy. Almost all my footage is MP4/h.264.
Is this happening to anyone else? Browsing the forum, I seem to be the only one, but it's devastating. I'm so much under the gun that I literally have to decide if it will be faster to learn Resolve in a hurry and jump ship, which isn't too late on this project. Premiere is really letting me down right now, and I'm dead in the water.
Any ideas for things to try would be much appreciated. I can't wait and file a bug report, because this ship will have sailed long before I get a response. If I can't resolve this in a day or two, I have no choice but to abandon ship, which stinks after sticking with Premiere basically since 1999.
I haven't done a complete reinstall yet. That'll be the last attempt because it's highly destructive.
