Create a Mono sequence in Premiere Pro?!

This is probably a really stupid question, but I can't for the life of me find a solution.

I mostly record audio in Mono, which I then edit in Audition.
When I send the file from Audition to Premiere Pro, since the PP sequence is set to Stereo  the audio clip is quieter.

How the hell do I change the sequence settings in PP to mono?!
Whenever I go to the sequence settings it doesn't let me do it!...

Thanks for the answers.

After a bit of research, apparentely the problem is that whenever one imports a Mono file into Premiere Pro, PP automatically applies -3dB to it.
Regardless of whether the timeline is in stereo or mono.

I guess the workaround will be to just add +3dB manually to the file.

Thanks for the help!

In the bin, you can set the audio of clip by Modify/Audio Channels, and set that for mono and click the boxes as needed below in that dialog.

What are your timeline default audio settings in the Preferences/Timeline?

There is the "pan law" thing when going from stereo to mono or vice versa. Note that most pro audio people do not like stereo, they work in dual mono. Left and right mono tracks, panned as needed.

You might be having that, which is a 3dB change typically. I work with defaults, and haven't had an issue with this personally in Premiere/Audition workflows.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
