Create new sequence without auto-transitions?

Why in the world is this default?!

Anyway... I want to create a sequence from a sequence I already edited. None of the edits have transitions, just straight cuts. When I create a 'New Sequence from Clip" it adds cross-fades to all of the edits.

I tried going in and setting the default crossfade time to 0, but it won't let me do that (minimum is 2 frames).

Why is it forcing me to have transitions? I find this totally ridiculous.

How do I remove them?

I did a work-around. After trying again, adn gettign the same result - the new sequence had clips crossfading - I went to Sequence>Simplify Sequence. And that got rid of all fo the cross fades.

Now that I've done that, I can't get the origin problem to repeat. If I start another project, and I have the same issue, I will post shots. Thank you.

There are built-in audio transition handles now, that you only see when 'zoomed in' to a clip ... but they are there in every clip. They don't 'do' anything unless you drag them out.

I think that is what you're seeing. Try expanding the original sequences ... 'zoom in' to them. Do you see the same thing?

It's not what I'm seeing in the timeline, it is how it is playing back. And it's not an audio issue - it's the video clips were fading between each other.

Can you post a zoomed in shot of each of the sequence timelines?

Premiere does not add transitions by itself. Besides a transition cannot be 0

Must be hitting some sort of shortcut.

If you want to make a sequence from a sequence, try Make Subsequence.

Thanks for the reply!

But it is adding transitions. Like, I'm not lying. All I am doing is right-clicking a sequence in the Project panel, clicking New Sequence from Clip. When play that new sequence, all of the edtis transitions are now cross-fades.

This is a new downlaod of Premiere 2025, so it's not like I went in and changed settings anywhere.

When I right-click the sequence, I do not see "Make Subsequence" in the list, and "Make Subclip" is greyed out.
