Create Style Function disabled

Hi,

 

I have Adobe Premiere Pro downloaded and I am making captions, I made some decent ones and I am trying to save them by clicking "create style" but unfortunatly this feature is greyed out and I cannot click it! Please respond to this issue.

This is not directed to the OP but in general, why do people think you can solve an issue by looking at a mini macro section of the UI.

Aaron,

 

That is odd.  I'd like for your screenshot to provide a larger context (do you have a caption selected, etc).

 

But I see no place where you have the "create style" option that should not allow you to click on it.

 

I would probably just go straight resetting the current workspace to the saved layout. And if that does not work, "reset preferences."

Hi Stan,

 

I have attached a screenshot below, when I go to the option to create a style, it seems as if it is there, but I am not allowed to click it? Is it because I might have a setting on? I am new to premiere pro I hope I can solve this issue.

Aaron,

 

It was obvious if I had guessed better!

 

You have multiple captions selected. Select only one. You create the style from that one; it then applies to the whole track.

 

Be aware that creating a style applies it to the whole track, including positions and italics. Applying a previously created style does the same thing. So, for example, if you are going to put some captions at the bottom and some at the top, and/or you are going to italicize certain words, use  your general style first, then make all those changes, and then DO NOT reapply a style.
