Question

Creating AAF for export to ProTools

Hello all! I'm super bad with tech, so forgive me.

I'm working with Adobe Premiere Pro 2023 and need to make an AFF for Pro Tools. The sound mixer is saying that my AAF files won't load the audio tracks. I have searched the internet and have tried all the examples for settings. I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. Any advise on settings? One thing he said was that the files came in at 29.97. My sequence is set at 30fps.

"29.97" is in many uses simply listed as "30" ... and what is listed as "30" is often actually 29.97.

Do an export of a short "30fps" sequence and check in MediaInfo as to what the actual FPS is.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Can you share your AAF Export Settings?

I recommend ticking Breakout to Mono and setting Files to Embed Audio.

Sometimes I've found it helpful to duplicate my sequence, delete all video clips, and create an AAF using only audio clips.

Cheers,
Paul
