Creating in and out points makes audio and video clips not be able to be inserted into the timeline

So anytime I am creating an in or out point on a clip or audio and try and drag it into the timeline, it won't work. Everything is fine if I leave the whole clip and drag it. I have double-checked the active track targeting and everything seems normal. The insert and overwrite shortcuts and buttons do nothing at the moment

Correct answer R Neil Haugen

Your Source tracks are blank. That far left black section ... that's the problem. If it ain't got a blue box to the far left, it won't work.

Try to make a new project and import old one and/or Trash preferences

If it's not the source patching this might be a bug as you are not the first to mention this with in and outpoints.

And the Source track targeting? The far left of the two blocks for targeting ... is that set also?
