Creating Overlays In Premiere Pro

Good Evening All,

I purchased adobe premiere pro early last year, i have been using to edit videos but feel i have only skimmed the surface of what this software has to offer.  I have been using very few of the many tools available, mostly simple editing and rendering for a better quality but for below i thought best to seek the advise and expertise of people in this forum.

Recently i wanted to add an overlay feature, where i can have numbers appear which i can increase, i think to best understand I should show you a video which is doing this, different format but will definitely better explain what i am looking to achieve and if this is possible in Premiere Pro.  Please see the "video" link below, I noticed this feature when my baby son was watching, if you forward to 8 minutes you will see an overlay on the right hand side with colors and numbers below which increase to help children count.

Video

Until now i have been doing this manually with transparent overlay images, it is time consuming to say the least and adds a huge amount of material to my workload, if there was an automated solution Adobe could offer I would be interested to know?

Thank you for your time.

    Hi to update this thread,

I am trying to keep a visual score on a video of table tennis footage, currently i am doing this with a PNG overlay image which i have to update every time someone scores a point, huge workload to my project, is there an extension for Premiere Pro anyone knows of?

Yes you can do this in Premiere but its a lot work.

As to my knowledge there is no plugin for this.

Instead of using a png use the Titler. Alt+drag in the timeline for a new instance, double click and change the number

Or AE might be a better tool for this.
