Critical Issue with Auto Save in Adobe Premiere Pro 23.5 (Latest Version)

Always the same excuses about the erratic behaviour of Premiere Pro.

Both on Apple and Microsoft file systems, files can be set to "hidden", meaning they only show in the file lists for Admin privileges. But users can normally go to the settings...in Windows it's right-click in Explorer  ... and there's an option to either hide files or show hidden files.

That is what I'm referring to. You can find online sources for how to find "hidden files" in your operating system.

Btw ... did you ask for the "video que" ? Staffer @Kevin-Monahan always suggests that, as you get PrPro specialists, not the general help staff.

Oh ya and i forgot to mention.. this all started because I stabilized a nested clip (still cant stabilize a speed ramp)  and got the wheel of death.... pathetic 

I just had the same issue and lost a days worth of work... after spending 90 minutes with adobe customer support... they made me download beta again... search for my project that was lost.. didnt find it. Made a new project and premire pro 24.0 double checked all my scratched disk... worked for another 30 minutes on the phone with them... still no auto save. So we deleted premire pro 24.0 and re downloaded it again. Same issue.

After all this time they made me start a new project file, import my old project and make a new auto save location... Which they fought me on wanting to save it to an external compred to my computers adobe folders.. After losing a days worth of work, and being on the phone with Adobe for 90 minutes... Thier conclusion was it was "betas" fault and they highly recommend not using Beta... but everything worked in Beta so im calling BS. It was a Bug on the newest update and after redownloading the bug wasnt there this time. They offered 7 day extension to my memebership.. i denied and requested something else. The best they gave me was 30 days extension.. still bs. This was my sign to switch to Davinci... Clearly Adobe cannot be trusted and if they want to blame it all on beta then maybe they shouldnt even allow consumers to download it. IM pissed off and tired... they screwed me on a days worth of work because of a faulty bug on their end. 

Adobe, if you see this.. make it right or you lost my service of 10+ years. 

As Ann's link would probably cover ... I would not expect any professional user, who must deliver on-time, ever ...  would rely on any program's "auto" anything. Just ... as a professional career and sanity saver, don't.

Don't matter who makes the app, or what it is ... never rely on any auto-backup process! I've used computers in business for what, 35 years now? I've never had an app who's auto-backup process always worked perfectly.

So yes, use it, but ... just get into the habit that anytime you complete anything, you tap Ctrl/Cmd-S. Manual save.

Anytime you complete a major section of the project, do an iterative save-as process and continue in the new project. Also do a save a copy to another drive or place on the network.

You will never "lose" any significant work this way.

And this is not a defense of "Adobe" or any other software maker. It's simply the best professional process, no matter the app in use.

I am having the exact same issue.  AUTO SAVE is NOT working.  Any solutions or answers or hopefully updates coming to fix this bug?

I have recently found the same issue.  I am working in a huge project and noticed that the (although quite annoying at times) auto save pop-up well...stopped popping up.  So I went into Edit, preferences, auto-save and the box is checked but I have been working in the beta version and both the pop-up autosave isn't popping up nor is it actually auto-saving when I went into the file folder for autosaves.  

I actually started working on the project in the normal version but kept getting the MPEG error and when I researched it they told me to open up the project in the beta version.  Although I'm no longer getting that error, the auto-save function does not work in either the normal PP nor the beta.

Why is this???  Autosave is a great function for us content creators who just get wrapped up in the edit and forget to save.  But not when this function is not working properly, we get really frustrated.
