Question

Cropping after rotate

I'm sure there's something super obvious I'm missing here. We shot these are verticals for instagram, and when I rotate the file, premiere is cropping the ends. How do I remedy this? Is it a sequence setting issue?

Thanks!

Yes, because you have a horizontal sequence by settings ... perhaps 1920x1080 or the UHD equivalent.

And I think what you're wanting is a vertical (portrait) sequence. You would need to go to the Sequence settings, and set them for say 1080x1920.

One more thing - found a workaround, if I rotate in Quicktime then import, they come in perfect.

Seems like a scale issue? If I scale it down to see the whole frame, what happens when I later export? Do I have to crop the black edges?
