Current bug with timeline indicator

I just recently updated my PP this morning, 6/20, and there seems to be a huge bug during playback! When I click play, the blue timeline indicator does NOT move at all, so I have no idea where I am on the timline. Only when I click stop, the blue indicator goes to its correct position.

This problem has never happened before this morning's update, and I already restarted my pc several times to try to resolve the issue. I'm still editing as much as I can, but this issue is making it very difficult.

In the video attached, every time I press play, I can hear audio and everything else seems fine, but the indicator doesn't move at all, and is only updated to the correct position once I press stop.

Hey Todd!!!

I did a combination of your suggestions and it worked! I'm actually editing with 3 monitors, and transmitting the main timeline preview to another small external monitor via a Blackmagic Decklink Mini Monitor 4K (mainly for color correcting and grading).  I think I unplugged all of the monitors and plugged them back in, along with resetting the workspace layout, clearing media cache, and disconnecting the Decklink to the monitor, and also restarted my PC too. I'm now able to get my old functionalities back, and hoping it stays that way. Thank you again!!

Nope, wrong bit. That should be deselected by EVERYONE!

I think the General tab is the one where show older versions is available. And ALL users can access back up to a full version. So you can install 23.x or 24.x ... or, as I recommend, both,

PLUS I think many users should install and test the public beta and reply about any thoughts or issues on the public beta forum.

Thank you so much for your suggestion! I tried to do that but it looks like things aren't going well for me right now.

When I pulled up the options, the checkmark was blue, where it says "remove older versions". If I'm reading that right, it means everytime I update, the older versions are no longer available to revert. I had no idea this was an option, so I wasn't able to choose an older version. I'll keep editing with a frozen timeline for as much as I can. Thank you again for the suggestion!!

Always. Go to the CC Desktop app, and in the options, make sure "show older versions" is selected.

Then to the far end of any app's line on the main display, right-click the 'open' thing and you get a menu. Select the version you want to install.

Hi Ann,

I just tried resetting preferences several times and that didn't help. I've been editing the same project for the past few days and all my settings have been the same, except for this morning's update.

Is it possible to revert to an older version of PP?

I'm in the exact same situation.

Resetting the settings didn't help either.

I can't work when I have urgent work to do.

I'm paying a lot of money and they are taking away my opportunity to make money.
