Cuts restart clip

Hello everyone, I have this problem of whenever I add something to my folder where the project file is it turns the footage to offline mode and screws up my cuts. For a better explanation, I have 3 video clips for the video that I'm creating in a folder with the project file and I already have a timeline with a lot of cuts (1 hour of footage into 10 from one clip). When I tried to add other footage in a new folder into the folder with the project it works, but when I select the project in premiere it puts the project into offline mode and prompts me to find the files, which I'm able to, but when it goes through, after every cut the clip restarts. For example, I say "Great" and then cut, then my friend says "wooo cool" cut, then something else after that but after locating the files it would go like this "Great" cut, "Great, *pause* wooo cool" cut, "great, *pause* wooo co...." cut, where it restarts the clip from every cut. I tried looking for fixes but the only one I can think of is redoing the project which I really don't want to so I'm up for any troubleshooting.
