Dangerous Spacebar!

When I press the keyboard Spacebar, the audio track is deleted.  How is this anyway?) The mouse cursor can be anywhere, but the track itself is not highlighted. What do you do with the program? I didn’t touch the settings, everything is fine with the keyboard!

Adobe Premiere 25.1.0, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Nvidia Studio 566.14, Razer Synapse 20241205.

Is this happening consistently, even after resetting the preferences several times?

Yes, after resetting the settings! This can happen 5 times in an hour, or maybe once a week. Usually at the moment when I want to add something to the timeline or play a video, for example. I press spacebar and the entire music track disappears. Video track is ok

Paul,

This is something happening on your machine. It isn't something Premiere is doing on others. So that is why the fix is something you have to do.

I was in the newest updates as of yesterday, all day long, in Premiere 23.x, 24.x, and 25.x shipping and public betas ... so as of December 6, 2024, it didn't do this in any version of Premiere on my PC. And I was hitting spacebar a ton in all versions, testing out other things.

I also did not have such problems in Premiere 23.x, 24.x. Even in Beta 25 there are no such problems. The problem is specifically in version 25! Let's be honest - on Windows there are always some problems with the Premier. This is not my first computer, so the hardware has nothing to do with it! The rest of the editing programs work without problems, but only with Premier my computer is bad) this is very funny, sorry

But it's only on your machine. No one else has reported this.

And yes, odd things can be happening on a specific machine due to a ton of things, most of which aren't 'caused' by Premiere.

This is where typical local troubleshooting is key. Things like open while holding shift key down, dumping all cache files in the dialog box.

Trashing Preferences. And so on.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

I did it recently. Every day I don’t see the point in resetting settings, software shouldn’t work that way! I don’t change the settings, I have my own working preset according to the settings. The only problem is updating the program.
