Premiere 25.5

Not sure if this is a feature or a bug. I made a post previously about how it now takes me 5 steps to apply a default transition (click on cut, KS apply transition, click on transition, click on transition again, move to start of cut). Part of this process is necessary because when I apply a default transition, it’s the cut that remains “focused” and not the transition I just applied, so once I apply the transition, I have to find the microscopic point where I can actually click on the transition to “focus” it, then move it. I would swear that in older versions the focus would immediately be on the applied transition instead of staying on the cut.

I don’t remember that as a problem in 25.5, but maybe someone else will come along that can try it if they have that version installed. You might want to change the default transition to something else and try it, and then set it back to the cross dissolve. See if that helps, as the effects have changed significantly with Adobe adding the entire Film Impact transitions to PP, and I think it started with 25.5.

BTW: I’m sure you know but Premiere version 26.0 is now shipping.

I work for a TV station, we only update once a year, usually in October. I won’t see 26 until Fall.

I just tried it and indeed the transition is not in focus when you apply it. You can drag out the transition with the little box on the end and beginning of clips but it’s not in focus then, in both cases the clip has focus.
