Delay after stopping playback with spacebar

When I play something in Premiere (in the timeline, in the source monitor, video, audio, anything...) and I hit spacebar, the playhead keeps playing for 4-6 frames before stopping the playback. This is really frustrating when for example trying to edit something to the beat of the music.

This seems to be the case with any type of resolution or other things that could affect the workload for Premiere.  I have had this problem for the past several versions of Premiere.

Anybody else experiencing this?

I am using a 2017 MacBook Pro 15".

PS. When i start playback, there is also a short delay, but this varies a bit with different resolutions, codecs etc.
