Deleting vids

I was editing and i clicked on a clip, and it switched to it and wouldn't let me go back to my video i was editing. It somehow focused or isolated that particular clip, and got rid of everything else in my project. As a result, several hours of painstaking editing for a school assignment were lost and my team members have lost their trust in me.
