Disappointed with Adobe Premiere Pro processing HDR Footage from my phone
After more than 10 years of subscription, I am extremely disappointed in Adobe Premiere Pro's processing of HDR footage from a Xiaomi FlipPhone. I accidentally recorded my child for a school project in HDR Video Mode, and when I Imported it into the timeline, the footage kept on stuttering. It took me around an hour just to find a supposed solution, but in the end it all didn't work. My wife suggested I try CapCut, and as I put the clip into the timeline, CapCut immediately informs me that it will convert the HDR to SDR. In less than a minute, I was recreating my edit in Premiere Pro. Why are we paying for a subscription if Premiere Pro can't automatically suggest a conversion from HDR to SDR?
I tried Interpeting the footaged, I tried converting the color space of the footage, the color space of the sequence, nothing worked, it kept on stutttering. I tried converting it via Adobe Media Encoder, and the stuttering persisted in the converted footage. I've been a loyal paying customer and this is so dissapointing!
