Question

DNxHD SQ exports with Bit Rate of 493 Mbps instead of 115

I'm trying to export a video for a client as a DNxHD SQ .mov file from Premiere but the files are HUGE and it looks like I'm running into a weird problem with the bit rate.

If I export DNxHD SQ from Premiere using the .mov Quicktime format the bit rate is 493 Mbps but If I export DNxHD SQ as a .mxf it exports with a bit rate of 115Mbps. Why would that happen? Also, exporting DNxHR SQ from Premiere exports with a bit rate of 115Mbps even if I use the Quicktime wrapper.

I would just use DNxHR SQ but the client is a stickler for the DNxHD codec as a .mov

Any and all help is appreciated!

I'm using Windows 10 and PPro CC 2018.

Make screengrabs and drag/drop them onto your reply box. Of both your mov & mxf export dialog boxes, showing all the settings on the right side.

I did two exports, Export 01 is the .mov and Export 02 is the .mxf

    Here's the info for Export 01.mov (28.2GB)

    Here's the info for Export 2.mxf (7.3GB)

I opened both videos in Pot Player to check their settings, here's what it shows for Export 01.mov

And here's the info for Export 02.mxf

    Wow.

I just did a test export of a 4k clip on my machine, DNxHR SQ 8bit mov & mxf. The mxf file is maybe 1% bigger.

Gonna do another test on a 1080 sequence.
