Do I have the minimum system requirements [to run Premiere Pro CC]?

Here's what I got. What I want to do is to run only Premiere Pro CC.

My system is is Surface Pro 4 (Version 1703) with:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300 CPU @ 2.40 GHz 2.50GHz

Installed RAM 8 GB

64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I am currently running CS5.

Also, will this upgrade allow me to edit .mts/AVCHD files? Right now this type of video file is making editing very difficult. I can only imagine that this is due to the age of my software.

    Jeff the system requirements for the different versions of Premiere Pro can be found at Premiere Pro System Requirements for Mac OS and Windows .  Based off what you posted the only requirement you do not appear to be meeting is the recommended AMD or NVIDIA video adapter for graphics acceleration.  Do you have one of the cards listed on the page installed on your Surface Pro 4?

    I think the editing experience with Premiere Pro would be...unpleasant...when run from a tablet.  (It's bad enough from a Laptop.)

    I do recommend multiple internal hard drives and at least a 24" 1080p monitor as a starting point.  That means desktop only.

    I believe the only surface that takes a dedicated video card is the Book.

    OP Jeff, I agree with Jim, and use my surface (Pro 3, same as yours but with a lesser i5 processor), only for quick tests.

    The other big issue is the high screen resolution and being able to really see enough of the interface to make working comfortable/efficient. PR CC may have better options than CS5 for handling UI text.

    But it will probably work.
