Does 23.4 open projects made in previous 23.0 version?

Since v.23.1, it has been incapable of opening projects built in 23.0 or earlier. I returned to 23.0 and disabled auto updates, so I don't lose access to my templates or ability to adjust previous jobs. Has this been resolved yet? It is ridiculous.

One thing I see around here that is not helpful, is the bandwagon to blame Adobe for their personal issues. It just delays you finding the cause, which is likely on your machine.

 

I'm not having that problem.

 

I just searched for and opened a 2017 project, it even had an AE linked comp and it opened just fine, after offering to update the format. The AE comp was linked as well and it looked normal.

 

Since I was on a roll, I found a 2014 project that had an AE linked comp and legacy titles. I got a warning that they would be replaced by essential graphics and it worked and looks good.

 

So, what could be wrong with your setup there?

    Once I've finished my current project, I'll give the update another shot. Earlier in the year, it was suggested that I 'Import' the old projects rather than standard 'opening' it, but that just crashed it and I rolled back to v23.0 straight away.
