macOS Sierra

Version 10.12.3 (16D32)

iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015)

Processor 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 1536 MB

380 GB of 1TB Fusion drive available

Premiere Pro CC 2017 super duper incredibly unbelievably sloooooow.

What should I do?

    iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)

Processor  4 GHz Intel Core i7

    Memory  32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

    Startup Disk  Macintosh HD

    Graphics  AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB

Fast performance and is rock solid for me on my Late 2014 5K.

Your Gfx card is kind of weak and only 8GB ram isn't great. You should be able to boost your ram yourself but your stuck with the Gfx card. Also a Fusion drive is not ideal either. Def should have an internal SSD for the OS / Apps to run. I have a 21.5" iMac with a 1TB HD, 16 GB Ram and PP is sluggish. It gets the job done albeit slow. I my 5K Retina is flies.

    Best of luck.

You can do live 4K playback? I have a iMac 5K 27" Late 2015 AMD Radeon R9 M390 2GB can't do live playback stutters. Final Cut Pro X is fine. It's set to use OpenCL even tried Metal but still stutters on 4K live playback in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017.

Should I downgrade to El Capitan because I'm on Sierra.
