Does Premier Pro allow your media to be accessed from an External Harddrive?

Hi there, may be a dumb question but before I buy Premiere i just want to make sure I won't need to import video files onto my iMac drive,

I want to be able to keep them on an external Harddrive and be able to edit them from there

iMovie seems to only work with files I import into the iMac itself

thanks,

Barbara

To do so pleasantly you do need a fast connection to a fast drive ... USB3.1/Thunderbolt or newer ... and it's best if you've got a "3rd generation" SSD drive on the outer end of that cable, Bill Gehrke suggests the Samsunt T5 drives now I think.
