doesn't recognize media files on my Seagate backup

I open PrPro and then attempt to open a video file I've had on my Seagate now for around 5 years. Havent had a computer with enough space to run the video - in fact I never finished the video because the laptop I was working on couldn't hold the size and froze up. Anyway, I'm hoping I haven't lost my images. System says something about Scratch disc and then it says something about not finding media there for the files it is detecting. I did use a song and am wondering if it may have been copyrighted. PS my original laptop used was not a Mac and I am now trying to open on a Mac. ?????

If the hard drive was formatted as NTFS, the Mac won't open the hard drive.

Try connecting it to a Windows computer to retrieve the file.

Don't reformat the drive or you will lose all content.

Thanks! Dont have a PC at the moment, but when I do, will I have to put it all on the PC and then put it on something else to get it to the Mac?
