Dolby Codec issue with new install.

I have 3 different editing systems linked together running Windows 7Pro and I am well aware of the Dolby Codec issue. I did not upgrade to CC2018 yet, going to go to Windows 10 some time next year.

One of the computers had a HD failure (home) and we had a hard time doing with the back-up so I did a clean install. I installed CC2017 but it is giving me the Dolby Codec issue. It brings up the prompt and I click OK but it does nothing. Also can't open old editing timelines.

From what I can see the other 2 computers are running the exact same version. Would like to get this back up and running but I can't see an issue. The Window Update is done so it's not the OS unless I am missing something.

Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that even with Windows 10 you will not have Dolby export on cc 2018 or 2017.1. 4. If the 8.1 license you refer to is surcode,  that may be helpful. You will have to contact them to find out. Someone else may have additional information.

If you're doing a clean install, make it Widows 10.  Don't wait.

Unfortunately the clean install was done weeks ago. I guess my only option is to upgrade this one to 10.

I have 2 other systems that CC2017 runs fine. I am wondering if I can transfer the application folder from one to another.

    Thanks

You cannot transfer an app folder you have to install.

The only version of 2017 available for installation is 2017.1.4, but it shows as 2017.1.2 in the about screen. The only difference is removal of the dolby file. You can try finding it in your old install.

When I ran into this, I did a rollback to a system backup prior to removing the actual 2017.1.2 version.

One problem I have is the system backup is not working, that why I had to do a clean install. I am going to check the backup for one of the other computers.

    Thanks Stan

Tried everything and I can't get it up. Loaded an older version so I do have that on the system. Anyway to access the dolby codec from the older version?
