Downscaling from 4k to HD in Premiere 2023 looks jagged and low res

I have been editing videos in 4k and creating graphics in 4k from AE, then exporting it as 1920 wide and it always ended up crisp and nice. I recently updated to 2023 versions and it's terrible now. I used the exact same export settings and it looks bad in the preview and also rendered out. Surely there's a setting changed or a way that it renders things now. Anyone else have this issue?

Thank you! This will work for now I guess. 🙂 I will not be updating to 23 until they can fix this issue.

Ok, after a lot of installing and looking around, I found that the old version I was using was 23.2 and that one works ok for rendering the way I was. Something happened above that version that is not ok. I am using 23.2 again and will just wait for the next updates. Here's hoping they figure it out! Thanks for your help everyone!

I agree...I wrote to Adobe about rendering for the latest versions 23.(5,6)...for now, the best version is 22.6.4 (it's a pity that newer projects v23.5,6 cannot be opened in 22.6.4 )
It's a pity that version 22.6.4 doesn't have as good a timeline as the last version 23.(5,6)...I mean stretching and shrinking....no chopping and the ability to stop the video where you want on the fully stretched timeline...

Pp 23.5 rendering is not as good as 22.6.4

Thanks for the reply! Have you found a workaround for this? How am I supposed to render out my video the same way for revisions if I cannot open the project in an older version? What a worthless thing for Adobe to do to people. Seems like something that could easily have been avoided. They've only been in the business forever and heard countless problems along the way. 😕😕
