Draw a track from moving object

On my movieproject of my motor travel across Europe, I have a moving object - a small PNG of a motorcycle - that moves across the map of Europe from city to city. That works fine and is easy to edit. But, I also want to have a red trail/path or track that follows the track of the motorcycle.

Currently I use 'Write-on' on the map of Europe and draw a track, but that is very, very slow to edit. And it is hard to follow exactly the track that the PNG has made.

My question: is there a possibility to re-use the track of the PNG and make that red-colored and clearly visible?

Or draw a coloured line over the map in Photoshop and save as psd

Import as sequence or individual layers.

Drop a wipe (or gradient wipe) over the entire line layer to reveal.

The only time I've done anything like this, I used After Effects.
