Duplicate clips visual cue

I'm not really sure how to word this question - I deleted my prefs to try to fix a bug, bug was fixed but now I've got a new problem. I used to be able to see duplicate clips on timeline easily with a coloured bar running along the bottom half of any duplicated clips, but now the coloured bar no longer shows up after pref deletion, is there a setting I can turn on to get these back?
