Question

Duplicate files NO SENSE!

Hi guys! I don't know, and I'd love to know why Premiere creates multiple files from the same original file, such as pp1, pp2, or even _2, _3.

Why does this happen?

I take the file from Windows explorer, I put it in Preview premiere windows, and then I take clips from there using in/out points and drag them into the timeline.

I can sometimes see 10 identical files in the original folder, but with different numbers like 1, 2, 3, 4.

Any help, please?

I've never seen this, and that's just bizarre!

But then, I normally use the Import option typically from a project bin within Premiere. Although I do occasionally drag/drop from an Explorer window.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

I just activate the BOX; on MEDIA, Allow duplicate files... let's see now

Hey Ivan,

Could you share your current Premiere Pro version? Please also let me know if going to the top menu bar and selecting Edit > Consolidate Duplicates helps.

Thanks,

Ishan

25.6.3, it's official, nothing weird.

And no... Consolidate Duplicates, is not working, and I don't have any Google Drive or whatever...

I just import clips from the preview windows and sometimes in the original folder, the file it just duplicates... and sometimes it's for example a gameplay 4gb
