Question

Duplicated nested sequences revert to old content when pasted in new project

I'm working with 13.1.2.  I am working with a template title project and I have duplicated some titles by accident in the project when I wanted to use the same template motion for two different moments in the video with different title and graphic content.  The problem is that if I change the title or graphics in one, it affects the other.  Normally I avoid this by duplicating the title or nest in the sequence by option dragging it.  But for whatever reason thats not working with this nest.  What are the rules?   I"ve also opened an autosave to get the old content and just past in the entire nested clip with manually duplicated and replaced content inside.  But as soon as I paste it into a new project, the content in the nested sequence reverts to the content of the other nest by the same name in that project.  How do I make a hard copy that does not dynamically link to other content?  I want this whole nested clip to become completely independent.

Thanks!

TJ

Here is a tutorial I prepared specifically for Premiere Pro templates customization using 'Pancake' workflows:

(the template used to demonstrate is one of the templates that I created from scratch)

If I am understanding correctly, you are not talking about MOGRTs from the Essential Graphics panel, correct? You're talking about templates that are entire Premiere Pro project files? Those are a bit trickier to work with, but not impossible. It's a little hard to properly guide you to a solution without seeing exactly the steps you've taken since as you said, you may have gotten a bit discombobulated with duplicating sequences and such. But you can always import the Premiere Pro project file that is the templates again which will definitely create a separate copy of the the sequence(s) that you should be able to drop into your timeline and make alterations to without it impacting the others.
