Dynamic Link problem after CC Update

I have a Premiere Project with several linked After Effects Comps.

After a CC Update, Adobe asks me to save the PP File as a new File. When i try to edit one of the linked After Effects Comp (edit original) Adobe asks me to save the AE File as new file. This works fine.

But if I now try to edit another linked AE Comp in the same PP project, PP is not linking to the new AE file. It opens again the old AE File and asks me again ti save it as new File.

How can I use dynamic link in existing Projects after CC Updates?

Thanks for any help!

The versions don't matter. This happens every time there is a new "major" version, which asks the user to save the projects as new file.

I think I found one solution to the problem:

Lets say i have PP.prproj and linked comps in AE.aep.

When clicking on "edit original" in PP after a version update, After Effects is opend and asking me to save the AE file as AE_1.aep. If I do this, I end up in chaos because every other linked comp I try to "edit original" will open again the old AE.aep and ask me save as new file. I am not able to link all the linked comps in PP to the new AE_1.aep.

The solution is:

the first time I "edit original" after a version update, I have to save the After Effects file AE.aep with the same name (AE.aep) - not as new file (i.E. AE_1.aep) as suggestet automatically by AE!

This sounds obvius. But since AE suggests automatically to save with a new name, I always thougt I have to do this...

Hi Ededinson,

Do you mind sharing the exact version of Premiere Pro & After Effects?

FAQ: How to find the exact version of Premiere Pro you're using?

Similarly, check for After Effects.

Yes, I realized the same that saving it with a new name creates a big mess and neither you neither Premire will remember which one is the actual good one. So from now I will save it to the original file. Who wants to have so many older version of the same project files (AE or PP) unless they intend to open it in an older version of software.

They really need to suggest to save it over the old file! I am struggling to connect AE comps for 3 days with multiple support teams, but looks like I have to sort it out on my own as they do not know what to do.
