dynamic lumetri presets

When we used this feature we came to concluse that if you put footage in a timeline. Do some leveling on the black and white to make pictures have a bit same values (as you always work in color grading). Or change a log c to a rec 709 .. the dynamic lumetri presets show the preset on the source material.. So this isn't representative on what i have in my timeline. What can give very strange combinations.

It is not a bug, seems to be designed that way, but then my question is more : why ?
