Hello there.

I use M1 Macbook and an up to date in terms of MacOS and Creative Cloud apps.  I get an error 'this command requires a later version of audition to be installed' Clicking OK makes the 'error' go away and I can carry on and use Audition.

I'm having the same issue. Latest versions of everything, running on an M1 Mac. Help!

recently I've found serious intermittent unpredictable issues with mxf files...   not a lot of fun as I'm dealing with a huge documentary project with many multicamera interviews with the angles shot on different cameras with different codecs and in some cases different pixel dimensions...  And for the most part I've been able to solve or workaround the issues...so far, but my clients nervous as we haven't actually started editing, just organizing and creating proxies...  Unfortunately, Sony's audio formating of the some of the files sometimes creates issues making proxies that will attach and stay attached within Premiere...  Among the solutions/workarounds is to select the clip in the project/bin and control click and choose interpret and adjust the audio channel configuration...  I'm assuming that by default some sony cameras record with 8 channels of audio in some sort of proprietary format that can cause issues within Premiere...  Not sure if getting the cameraperson to change the audio configuration would help...  and in my experience, dp's are not always interested in making postproduction easy...  (I can show you the scars on my back from their knives if you like).

So maybe worthwhile trying changing the audio channel configuration... but don't think that will apply to clips already edited into the timeline...

One solution that worked with visual issues (not sure if would make a difference for your issue with sending to audition, but maybe worth a quick test) was suggested by Ann Bens (credit where credit is due. When you start monitoring this board, you quickly learn who's got valuable, trustworthy advice).   She suggested changing the file extension from .mxf to .mpg and that did work after I'd tried everything else...   I'd suggest duplicating the media file before attempting this...  but worth a shot.

And unfortunately M-1 (and I gues M-2) based computers obviously present serious challenges for the adobe team...  I was working on a project early this year on a first generation m-1 macbookpro and had a lot of issues...  Kevin Monahan suggested I try the beta version which solved most, if not all issues I was having...  So clearly Adobe is working on these problems....

Hi Bel,

Can you verify the exact versions? 22.5?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hey BinOnWheels,

Sorry about the issue. Can you let us know which version of Audition and Premiere are you using? Do you get this error while doing a specific task on Premiere or at random? What are your system specifications (OS, OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM)? Let us know. We're here to help.

Regards,

Ishan

I get the same error message every time I go to send my Premiere sequence to Audition.  CC, Premiere, Audition all running latest versions.  I click okay on the error message and the round tripping between Premiere and Audition seem to work fine otherwise.
