Edit on one machine and render on another

I use two very nice computers and am looking for a solution to do all my editing video using Adobe Premiere (always current version through the cloud) on my main computer and then render the project on my 2nd machine using premiere or encoder when I am done so I can move on to the next project.

I utilize all the files in a folder on the 2nd machine already, as I used to edit and render on that machine solely.

I figured by now there'd be a simple solution, but internet and this forum's search results did not return quick results on how-to.

To reiterate what I am trying to accomplish in short:

Edit video on one machine with Adobe Premiere.

Render that video on a 2nd machine with Adobe Premiere or Media Encoder.

Any help would be appreciated. I don't need any sort of long-winded answer if you'd like to avoid that. A simple point in the right direction and I can continue to research.

I was just told by tech support that my individual license allows me to simultaneously edit using Premiere on one computer while rendering using Media Encoder on another computer.

So using TP or Productions, with a shared media/project storage setup, this could work. Just open the project on the other rig in probably Me and set it to exporting.

Alternately, IF the entire project lives in one folder structure, you could complete the project on the A machine. Then copy that entire structure, all PrPro files, media, everything in the folder structure ... to the B machine. Now open that on the B machine and set an export.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Hi @maziontv,

In short: a simple solution is to use Team Projects. You can also set up a "Production." Choose the former if you cut a lot of small projects, use a Production if you are working on a large production, like a feature, doc, or series. Let the community know if you want specifics. Hey @Kevin-Monahan thanks for getting back to me so fast!

I'll check out using Team Projects. I am a content creator on several platforms and am about to get back into doing gaming videos on YouTube, so my productions aren't super complicated so I don't really need that. They're just one sequence videos.

I'll check this out and if I have any more questions, I'll get back to you!

You'd think, by now, the Media Encoder would allow you to queue up a render on one machine and execute that render on another machine on that network. That would be such an amazing feature! lol

Hi @mazion444,

You basically create a project that two computers can access simultaneously, either a Team Project or Production is what I'd use. Even a one person team can use these kinds of projects to leverage multitasking. MyerPJ adds on smart rendering to the mix, and that would be an option if you want super fast exports.

You're building a workflow pipeline so it helps to know the computer components, the media you work with, whether or not you are going to optimize media or not, and your workflow specifics in order to give you the best possible advice.

I wish you luck in devising this gamer video workflow using multiple computers on a network. Come back with questions.
