Edit timing of Auto-Captions created from Transcript?

With the latest update, I've noticed the timing of the captions is way different. It displays captions much earlier than it used to. In the past the words would appear right as the dialogue is spoken, which was great for the type of videos I create for work. Now they often appear almost 5 seconds before the words are even spoken. I'm wondering if there's a way to get it back to settings from before the update? Otherwise it'll mean going through each caption, one by one and editing the start point which is very time consuming. I appreciate any tips or advice!
