Editing a comp in AE, automatically update same clip in Premiere?

Hello!
I have a question regarding working with comps in Premiere. Say my graphic designer exported a comp for me that I imported into my Premiere project. If an edit was needed on that comp, is there a way that the GFX designer can make an edit to that comp in AE, then see that edit automatically update to the comp I have in my Premiere project?

 

Or will that comp need to be rendered again out of AE in order for me to see the update of the same comp in my Premiere project?

    Hey Michael, give it a try. The answer though is yes, if you import the one AE project, and your Graphics guy modifies that same AE project, then yes, it will update. Just make a simple one, some text. Import it into PP, open it in AE and change the color. I really like using AE like that.

    FYI: You can take a look at 'Essential Graphics', it would be another way to work with AE comps in PP and have some editable options in PP that your gfx guy allows. Text, colors, size, etc...

        Just a quick question to make sure I'm doing this correctly...

         

        Do I need the AE project (that my GFX guy rendered the comp from) open on my machine in order to see the update he makes take effect on the file in my premiere project?

        No, you don't need to open AE to see the changes.

        Just to make sure, we're talking about a project you are sharing. So, somewhere on your network is an AE file and you import it, and if changes are needed he modifies that same file. Would you be accesing the same file.
