Question

editing from source from search panel creates duplicate sequences

I am on a mac mini m4

Sequoia 15.5

Premiere pro production on 25.3.0 (build 84)

When I search for text in a transcript from the search panel, I will right-click the relevant search result and "open in source monitor". Then, if I cut into my working sequence from there, it creates a duplicate sequence that I am unable to remove.

  • If I erase, it will erase everything I cut into my working sequence.
  • I try to reassociate, and nothing happens
  • If I drag the duplicate sequences into the project I am trying to reassociate to, they will all disappear if I select "Consolidate duplicates"
  • However, I cannot move them from the project where they are duplicated. If I drag them out, they will only duplicate to the other project.
  • I tried taking the working sequence AND duplicate sequences into the same project I am trying to reassociate to, consolidate duplicates, they disappear. Then try to drag the working sequence back out to the original project, it repopulates the duplicated sequence in that project.

@theblankbeard when you right click on the result to open in Source Monitor, is that specific result a source clip or a sequence? You can tell by the icon next to the name on the result, or you can use the "Source" and "Sequence" filters above the results to only show one or the other.
